Hello, Loyal Readers, from Austin, Texas!
Alas, zipping through 33 events coast-to-coast in some 50 days finally caught up to me this week, and my voice became so rough at the end of my speeches this week that Michigan Radio and I agreed that no one wanted to hear it Friday morning! So, no Bacon Blog this week. But I’ll be back next week, promise.
In the meantime, I’ve included some links to recent radio interviews and media mentions below.
Plus, the book tour is in its final phase — well, at least the final flight. We have seven more events before the holidays, which I’ve updated on the events page and listed below.
But BY FAR the coolest — pardon, everyone else! — is a book signing at Sava’s on State Street (Ann Arbor) on Monday, December 12, from 6-??. Why is it so cool? Because the owner, Sava Lelcaj, is! She generously offered to host an event at her great restaurant, and is even throwing in some trays of her delicious appetizers. Even better, Lynn of Nicola’s Books has offered to come down to sell books to anyone who doesn’t have them already. Whether you need to bring your own or buy them there, all are welcome, and I’ll sign them all. Come on down to the best book party of the year!

Now, for a little media:
This comes from SI.com’s Stewart Mandel:

“Rodriguez walked into a terrible situation, and though he shoulders much of the blame for his ill-fated tenure, I’d recommend reading the new book Three and Out for a good account of how so many people behind the scenes in Morgantown and Ann Arbor helped undermine him from Day 1.”

I was at the Book signing in Austin. John was fantastic. He regaled us with expanded stories about sections in the book as well as other historical tid bits about the Wolverines. I had no idea that UM pulled out of the Big Ten from 1908 to 1916. I also got to chat with John for a few minutes while he signed my book. I’d recommend seeing John at any of these events if you get the chance. Write another book John!
Much thanks, Perry!
Of course, the speech always works best when there are people present to hear it — so thank YOU!
Book it, and I will come — promise!

Thank you for coming to Austin! It was great to gather with Michigan fans and to meet you. Your story of training with the boys was amazing. I can’t even imagine going through that regiment. Can’t wait to read your new book. God bless and Go Blue!
Much thanks, Ryan — a good time was had by all, and special thanks to Andy Fletcher, the UM Club President who made it all happen. Those guys are the keys, at every stop.
