Dear Loyal Readers,
Thanks to the good folks at Farrar, Straus & Giroux, and the equally good folks at the Wall Street Journal, today the WSJ ran a three-quarter page excerpt from my upcoming book, Three and Out: Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan Wolverines in the Crucible of College Football, out October 25. The excerpt is linked below.
They derived this from Chapter 43, “Denard’s Day,” when I followed Mr. Robinson on the Wednesday before the Michigan State game from 6:45 a.m. to 10:34 p.m. If anyone thinks even a star quarterback “has it made,” reading this might make you think twice.
Two other items:
-I pledge to do a MUCH better job putting your comments up ASAP on our message board.
-I’ll be updated the speaking schedule today.
-All donors will be getting a very well earned personal thank you from yours truly — it’s working! — and the knowledge that you’ve kept at least one column going in this tough times for journalism, and/or one writer off the streets. Take your pick.
Great thanks to all of you!
Now, please enjoy: http://online.wsj.com/article/

John U. Bacon is the author of, “Three and Out: Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan Wolverines in the Crucible of College Football,” due for release October 25. It can be pre-ordered now.
Preordered on iBooks, still waiting. Looking forward to it. I wonder if JUB took any snaps while hanging with the team?
Hi Phil,
Much thanks!
Not a big picture taker, but I’m sure my mug got caught in a few with the players, coaches and fans. But they’re all on their phones, not mine!
