Hello, Loyal Readers!
It’s been a busy week at Bacon Blog headquarters — which is to say, these days, usually my car, zipping from Ann Arbor to Chicago to Up North and repeat as needed.
Yahoo asked me to combine my pieces on Coach Mac from last year and last week, condense and revise, and I did so to create a eulogy for him currently running in the Yahoosports.com/postgame’s page. Here is the link.

Back in Ann Arbor, the University of Michigan Regents voted down Dave Brandon’s plan to add fireworks to the Miami of Ohio and Penn State games. Their reasons might sound familiar to you loyal readers of the Bacon Blog.

Hope you all have a good weekend. See you next week.

Well, for some reason the links aren’t working as links in the blog, howevr, that’s not a monumental problem I just wanted to let you know.
Thanks,
Carol
Go Blue!
John,
Is it possible that Dave Brandon hasn’t heard of the 4th of July? Maybe the Regents will snuff him next. I hope so.

If not fireworks, maybe Brandon can have little men in funny suits drive funny little cars around the playing field at half time. I saw my first Michigan game in 1953 and in recent years it is hard to distinguish a football Saturday from the circus.
John:
Your eulogy on Coach Mac is a strong reminder to reach out to people who have had a positive influence on you or just reach out to people you care about. Your story brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing it.
